Get your document legalised by KVK
Legalisation is the process of verifying that the signature on a document is authentic. You may have to have documents legalised if you do business abroad. Read when legalisation is required and for which documents.
Valid documents abroad
Are you doing business abroad, or are you planning to? Some foreign countries will require you to have your documents legalised. Legalisation makes the document suitable for regulations abroad. KVK legalises a wide range of business and trade documents, such as packing slips and commercial invoices.
What does legalisation mean?
By legalising a signature, KVK certifies that the document has been signed with the correct signature. KVK verifies that the document was signed by an authorised signatory of your business.
Document types
KVK legalises signatures on a wide range of documents, including:
- commercial invoices
- packing slips
- manufacturer's declarations
- product specifications
- health certificates issued by inspectorates
To have documents bearing the signatures of notaries and translators legalised, it is best to contact the court.
In some cases, the Consular Services Centre (in Dutch) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also has to legalise documents after KVK has verified them.
