Are you bothered by rules of a decentralised authority, such as the municipality, province, or water authority? If so, you can report it to the local authority itself. Do you not know which local authority you need to contact? The Meldpunt Regelgeving can help you.
Which notifications do we deal with?
- Notifications about unnecessary requirements or actions.
- Reports on the content of existing or new legislation (regulations and amendments).
- Notifications about the execution of a rule by a government organisation.
Which notifications do we not process?
- Complaints about public authorities or executive organisations that have their own complaints procedure.
- Reports about third parties who do not comply with the law, such as reports about fraud, faulty products, or spam.
- Complaints for which an objection, appeal, and/or legal proceedings are already pending.
- Complaints that you have already submitted to the National Ombudsman or another organisation representing your interests.
What happens to your report?
We will contact you within 3 days. Sometimes we can give you an answer right away. In other cases, we will forward your report to the responsible government agency or agencies. This is done anonymously, unless you do not object to us also passing on your contact details. Once your report has been responded to, we will pass on the response to you. We also pass on reports and replies to the Adviescollege Toetsing Regeldruk (Dutch Advisory Board on Regulatory Burden, ATR). On the ATR website you will find information about the investigations being handled by ATR.
