Do you want to put an advertising sign alongside a public road? Or put a banner over a road in the Netherlands? You will need permission from the municipal or provincial authority. This applies for instance to announcements for events or for signposting your campsite or catering establishment. You must satisfy a number of conditions. You are not allowed to place billboards on or near national highways.

Online application procedure via Message Box

You can apply for permission to place signs alongside public roads also via Message Box. Message Box is a secure email system that enables you as an entrepreneur to exchange digital messages with Dutch government agencies.
