Environment and planning permit: temporarily placing an object on a public road
Do you want to temporarily place an object on a public road, the sidewalk, or parking space? In most municipalities you will need an environment and planning permit (omgevingsvergunning). The rules for this are set out in the municipality's environment plan. It concerns for example:
- cranes
- scaffolding
- site huts
- portable toilets
- containers
You apply for an environment and planning permit via the online service counter Omgevingsloket (in Dutch).
Notification
In some cases making a notification to the municipality is sufficient. For instance if the placement is only for a short while, such as a moving lift.
