Fuel surcharge for cars on specific types of natural gas to go up

What changes?
Do you have a company car or van that runs on natural gas CNG, LNG, or LPG with the type designation ex-factory, G3 installation, or R115 installation? If so, you will pay the full fuel surcharge from 1 January 2026. Currently, owners of cars and vans running on these fuels have to pay less surcharge.
For whom?
Entrepreneurs driving vehicles that run on:
- CNG
- LNG
- LPG with the type designation ex-factory, G3 installation or R115 installation
When?
This amendment is expected to come into effect on 1 January 2026.
Please note: The effective date of this measure is not yet final. Entry into force is subject to its passing through the Upper and Lower Houses (Eerste en Tweede Kamer) of parliament or proclamation of the Order in Council (Algemene Maatregel van Bestuur, AMvB) or ministerial decree and publication in the Staatsblad or Staatscourant (Government Gazette, in Dutch).
